Eye on audio - Dead Letter Circus

 


Two days ago an evelope arrived at home. Content: The new album "this is the warning" by Dead Letter Circus. Almost nobody knows those aussies here in Europe or in the US but that has to change! Damn, that record will not leave the CD player any time soon.

The crazy thing is that the band isn't around for a long time. They started playing gigs in Australia in 2007 and gained huge success right away. Airplay, sold out shows and a massive fanbase. Well deserved, cause their debut self titeled EP and the follow up EP called "next in line" already sounded like a band that exactly knows what it is doing. DLC has been unique from the start.

The music has a progressive feeling. At the same time fans of bands like Tool, a perfect circle or Karnivool will feel comfortable with this music. But DLC is way heavier than most of those bands. On the other hand DLC uses synthesizers quite often. But that does't stand in the way of the great rock attitude of DLC's sound. Cause the amout of synths is just right. Either it is a great foundation for the songs, or it adds massive grooves. Even if it sounds like Pop music sometimes it still is very straight forward. Add a lot of depth and feeling to that and you get the sound of DLC.

I bought a ton of very impressive albums this year, but this one really stands out. A huge cntestent becoming the album of the year!

Can you imagine that this girl knocks on your motel door, you open, she smiles and is happy to see you? aint that a great feeling? well, thats what happened to me when we did this phtoshoot in june 2010. it took place in the little town of Alhambra, a subburb of Los Angeles, the largest asian community outside Asia if i am right. A cheap motel room with 54 asian TV channels, five spanish ones and about two english ones.

This shooting took place four days before I got married. Quite a nice way to end my time as a bachelor. Alex is awesome, she not only has these killer looks when she is in front of the camera, she also is awesome when the camera is off. In my opinion she is one of the greatest models California has to offer. Damn, she's hot! She is very sensual and she knows what she does. And fuck yes, she is famous already.

She has not only already worked with the coolest photographers and designers, they also designed a video game character that looks like her. She is the a character in "Dragon Age - Origins". Besides that Alex has been featured in countless magazines all over the world.

These pictures are totally unedited. The model makes them so special and so outstanding that i didn't feel like changing anything in those pics. Our photoset can be found in the latest issue of germany's Tattoo Erotica Magazine. You can order it online but I have to warn you: It is really hot and it might cause fucking trouble if you have that mag laying around unattended somewhere!

Finally Alex has been my major inspiration to shoot video clips with my models in the future. I've just played around a bit with the camera and the outcome...well, it speaks for itself i hope. We only shot like two minutes of video material just because i inteded to do nothing more than a little making of video. But hey, it's Alex! So i used the material to edit this piece:

Eyesore? wtf?

Welcome to Eyesore. Just to give you a brief idea what it is all about: On this Blog i will share what happens in my world. I am not quite sure where this is going and what it all will be in the end but at least it will be fun.
